Preface

As I write this, I am in my 56th year of full-time professional work involving the research and application of research findings to improving human lives. Now in my eighties, my soul’s fulfillment continues to be sharing how Universal Mystical Presence and psychic/mystical energy factors influence every aspect of our lives.

Based on research and time-tested applications, what guidance can be shared in the pages of this collection of essays is based on over five decades of full-time research conducted with thousands of my students concerning the nature and reality of consciousness. This was accomplished by taking students into higher states of consciousness while utilizing advanced practices of meditation. Experiences of the students in higher states of meditation were described in research forms. The experiences were studied so that the observations each student gave to his or her experiences could be compared. If both experiences and interpretations were similar, and if such similarities and interpretations were continually produced by large numbers of students, then the experiences became a known truth, reality, or quality for purposes of teaching about the spiritual/psychic/mystical activities of the unconscious.

Such truths were then applied to a spiritual philosophy, psychology, and theology upon which to live daily life. Over a period of years that stretched into decades, these applied truths improved so many students’ lives that I chose them to explore in the topics in this book. As such, each essay in this book is a composite or synthesis of what is described as the transcendent, the transpersonal, the Psychical, and the Mystical or Universal Consciousness or God.

Not a Coincidence

You have this book in your hands because you are ready for its contents. Nothing in this Universe is by chance or coincidence. If you are a long-time student or practitioner of this book’s content there will be things with which you are already familiar. The purpose of this book is to expand your knowledge with ideas, concepts, and practices that are new to you.

My Gift to You

Many times over the years, I have been told by students that I have the knack or ability to blend or synthesize so many studies into one cohesive and, above all, applicable approach to improving life through a complementing synthesis of psychical energy factors, namely, the transcendent, the transpersonal, the meditative, and the mystical. Such subjects are most often studied independently of each other without bringing them all together in an intelligible manner so as to make common, practical sense in meeting the needs of the individual and society collectively. May this be so accomplished as you read this book. And, as I was so gifted by Universal Presence—may you be so gifted.
