Hidden Secrets of Christ’s Teachings, Part 1: Over the course of his lifetime of service, Dr. Masters presented a large number of inspirational lectures during his Sunday services. Almost all of them began with a meditation or healing treatment, after which he presented a teaching that included a set of affirmation statements.
In this lecture, Dr. Masters reveals that Jesus taught at two different levels. One level was for the masses. The other level—the secret or hidden level—was for the few . . . specifically, the Disciples, who could actually comprehend and appreciate what was being taught.
Said another way, only a few people at that time could understand the innermost teachings of Jesus about God, Spirit, and Mind. The majority of people could only interpret his teachings in a very obvious way, and on a very physical level.
For example, experiencing the Kingdom of Heaven was the main focus of Christ’s teachings. But there was both a hidden and outer aspect to that teaching. The masses, of course, could only understood the Kingdom of Heaven to be a physical realm that one goes to after death (if you were a good person, that is).
Jesus, however, openly taught that the Kingdom of Heaven is “here and now” . . . that it is “at hand” . . . that it is within each of us. He taught that the Kingdom of Heaven is actually a state of consciousness—a point of contact at the innermost center of your mind where you can experience direct communion and union with the Presence of God. And through that oneness with God, you come to understand that everything you need in life will take care of itself if you turn your personal will over to God’s Will and allow it to happen. That is the hidden teaching about the Kingdom of Heaven that the Disciples were being taught and were better able to comprehend.
So how do you reach that state of consciousness where you can experience the Kingdom of Heaven? The same way the Disciples were taught to reach it—through meditation.
